January 2021 Rent Important Update

If the rent is due on the first of the month. Please take note to how to follow the laws and procedures of the court. Because this January is a little tricky. None of us want to lose based on a technicality.

Based on my own personal experience, technicalities are very expensive. Because the first of the month is a holiday, the rent is not due yet. Not until the first business day of the month, we can’t count weekends either, so the very first day of rent is due would be the 4th. Rent would not be considered delinquent until on or after January 5, 2021.

This month to enforce AB3088 and the 25% of the rent being due on or before the 31st of January, you want to make sure all your ducks are in a row. Contact your legal counsel for assistance, this is the month that it matters.
